I use Picasa (from picasa.google.com/) for all my basic quick editing and uploading to Flickr, Facebook and Picasa WebAlbums. Basic editing such as Crop, Straighten, Redeye, fill light, text, and blemish fixes are as quick as a click and moving a slider. I can then also select a few photos and click on "Geotag with Google Earth" to quickly locate a place on Google Earth and have the files geotagged. After that I add captions and give the photos tags, and thereafter the photos can be exported to Flickr, Facebook, or Picasa Webalbums complete with their captions, tags, etc. Other export options include reduced sizes to a hard drive directory, reduced size added automatically to Gmail or Outlook mail, and export to a Blog.

Picasa also has very easy and quick ways of creating wonderful collages (which you can save, e-mail, upload, etc) and also screensavers.
