The watch has two screens and this one will power the watch for up to 30 days if running only in this mode. It has the added advantage of being visible in bright sunlight. In default mixed mode this screen comes on whenever the backlit smartscreen fades out. Once the battery starts to run really low the watch will default to this mode to extend battery life but another 2 to 5 days.
