Firefighters from all over the City were rushing to the scene as I left work. With the strong winds and dry conditions this is going to be a bad on. Already houses are threatened at the bottom of the slopes. I passed 5 fire engines rushing into town as I drove out of Cape Town. The blaze is being fought by firefighters with 18 to 20 fire tenders, assisted by three helicopters with water buckets. People are standing everywhere taking photo's and staring in amazement as the smoke and flames nearly reach the upper cable car sation. The Station is already evacuated. A thick layer of orange smoke hangs over Cape Town CBD.
