This is Cecil John Rhodes' cottage at Muizenberg. Now a national monument and museum. Rhodes made his fortune in South Africa and had a major impact on establishing the diamond mining business, the ill fated Jamieson raid, the Rhodes scholarship program, and many others. One of his political ambitions was to create a road from Cape to Cairo across Africa. Nowadays many interesting rumours have surfaced about his private life as well.
