I still remember ordering chicken and chips (what ever that is in French - it sounds grander in French at least). In those days we worked for the civil service and this first trip was not made on a grand budget.... the rest of Europe was mainly MacDonalds food... so much so, that for about four years after we returned, we did not eat MacDonalds again!
